I saw a scene where Mayu dropped some leaves on Shinn who was sleeping with a book open on his face – which inspired my interpretation of Shinn’s childhood activities, plus a quote by Jules de Gaultier: “Imagination is the one weapon in the war against reality.” I deliberately paraphrased the quote into the story (I don’t own it).

I read that Kirihara's father is an overseas businessman, so this idea was born to explore and write out what Kirihara might be feeling in regards to the father and son relationship. I was also looking at the time line at a fan site, so this is set one month after Kirihara officially becomes a regular, so he really doesn't know the new regular team that well. He might have known them in passing prior to becoming a regular, though. Basically, I attempted to write from a thirteen-year-old Kirihara's POV and how he may feel about his father's absences. (And, no, I don't use "senpai/sempai" or other words I am unfamiliar with, but I'm sure you're not here to see those words.)

To those who have wandered from FanFiction.Net to this page: here is all the information you will ever need to know about my stories. That is, if anyone is actually here for that purpose...?

One day I will take down all of my fan fiction and file it away for safekeeping, to have as memories. But for now:

I do not write yaoi, yuri, incest, or smut. I do not use "those" curse words, even if it is IC to do so, I cannot bring myself to use them, so I use other words like "darn," "dang," and my personal favorite, "blast it" (Star Wars!). I try to be as original as possible and nowdays, I'm trying to write about under-appreciated characters. If you have a problem with any of this, tough. Deal with it. If you find you don't like a story, don't read or review it. Simple as that. Please be mature and respectful.

If I say something is a one-shot, that means it's finished. I shouldn't have to say that, and I can't believe I still have to.

Mind you, original writing takes first priority over fan fiction.
